COURSE OVERVIEW

This course focuses on practical acting techniques, offering the chance to refine creativity and performance skills. Students not only study renowned practitioners and acting styles but also develop their own techniques and methods through workshops, group projects, and live performances. The curriculum emphasises developing skills in voice and movement, along with independent research exploring the nuances of the actor's craft. Crucially, the course explores both stage and camera acting skills, essential knowledge for every actor in the contemporary era.

Elevating the BTEC Experience at Creation Drama College

The primary goal of the CDC BTEC is to offer students valuable hands-on experiences that not only paves the way to further education but also open doors to immediate employment. Effectively managing one's acting career is paramount in securing opportunities, and at CDC, we go beyond by providing essential support, additional tools and experiences to ensure you can confidently pursue a future in the performing arts upon completing the course.

In addition to the above, Creation Drama College will offer:

An Intensive Program:

The Level 3 Extended Diploma spans 1080 Guided Learning Hours across a 2-year period, averaging approximately 15 guided learning hours per week.

In an effort to maximise our students' training opportunities over these two years, our program is scheduled from:

10:00 - 16:00 Tuesday to Friday

In addition to this we will hold periodic Industry Mondays.

This will amount to more than 400 additional guided learning hours over the 2 years, enriching the educational experience for our students.

Please Note: Students will be required to participate in occasional Monday rehearsals and filming sessions as per the schedule demands.

Industry Mondays:

Industry Mondays are an exclusive opportunity for our students to engage with seasoned professionals in the acting, theatre, and film industries. This program brings in a diverse array of experts, including agents, casting directors, and more, to share insights, participate in dynamic discussions, and conduct hands-on workshops.

Industry professionals will lead discussions, answer your burning questions in Q&A sessions, and guide you through specialised workshops tailored to various aspects of the entertainment industry.

Industry Mondays provide a unique chance to connect with professionals who have made a significant impact in the industry.

Practical Preparation for the Industry:

In addition to exploring diverse acting techniques and honing essential skills for a successful entry into the acting industry, our program places a strong emphasis on practical business readiness.

This entails crafting impactful showreels and headshots, refining CVs and cover letters, guidance on securing agents, mastering casting techniques, and learning strategies for sustaining an active career between acting engagements.

Holistic Industry Exploration:

Our program extends beyond the realm of acting, providing students with a comprehensive industry experience. During productions and film shoots, they will have the chance to immerse themselves in a variety of roles, ranging from production managers, directors, writers, and cinematographers to exploring responsibilities in set design, costume and makeup, sound engineering, and editing.

This multifaceted exposure allows them to gain valuable insights into the collaborative nature of the entertainment industry, promoting a well-rounded skill set that transcends acting alone. Such diverse experiences not only deepen their appreciation for different facets of production but also prepare them for a versatile and dynamic career path within the field.
